APPLICATION
1 Location of partition wall
2 Preparation of profiles
3 Sticking the sound insulation tape
• The location of the partition wall is determined.
• The line that U-profile will be fixed is marked on the flooring with shaving rope.
• The line on the flooring is carried to the ceiling by using plumb and marked on the ceiling with shaving rope.
• The length of the partition wall to be made is determined and U-profiles are cut according to this length.
• In order to facilitate the fastening, C-profiles are cut 1 cm shorter than the ceiling height.
• Before the fixing, sound insulation band is stuck under the U-profiles and the C-profiles that will be fastened to the side walls.
4
5 Fixing the profiles
6
• The amount of C-profiles is calculated by accepting the axle intervals as 60 cm.
• In kitchen and wet volume wall applications that will be covered with materials such as ceramic and marble etc., the axle interval must be 40 cm.
• U-profiles are fixed to the flooring and the ceiling with electrical screwdriver or nail gun by using dowel + washer head screw.
• The screw intervals must be 60 cm.
• The first C-profile is fixed to the wall. The other C-profiles are fastened by being rotated between the U-profiles with 60 cm intervals.
• C-profiles are not fixed to U-profiles to make it possible to perform partial slides that will be required during the gypsum coating stage.
7 Cutting the gypsum plates
8
9
• The plasterboard on the front side of the gypsum plate is cut with a utility knife by using template.
• The utility knife must contact with the gypsum surface by completely cutting the plasterboard.
• The gypsum plate is broken with hand from the cutting place by keeping the cut surface upside.
• The gypsum plate is turned upside down and the rear plasterboard connection is cut with the utility knife.
• The gypsum plates are prepared for the coating by being cut 1 cm shorter than the ceiling height.
• The gypsum plate is removed and fixed with plate wedge. The lower part is fed with plate parts.
10 Gypsum plate coating
11
12 Screwing
• The upper part of the gypsum plate is approximated as much as possible to the ceiling.
• 1 cm space is left between the lower side and the flooring to prevent the gypsum plate to become damp.
• The coating starts with 1 full plate on one side. The gypsum plates must center C-profile wings.
• Gypsum plates are fixed to U and C-profiles with 25 mm drywall screws.
• The screw intervals must be maximum 30 cm and discomposing.
• Screwing is not made on the C-profiles on the middle of the gypsum plate.
• The screws must not be closer than 1 cm to the sides of the gypsum plate.
13
14
15 Installation works
• Gypsum plates are screwed to the C-profiles from bottom to top.
• Screw heads must be leveled with the plate surface and must not enter into the core by perforating the plasterboard.
• The screwing at lower and upper parts where U and C-profiles coincide must be made as V.
• The screw ends must go out around 1 cm from the back of the profile.
• In this stage, the installation works that will take place within the wall opening are completed.
• Electricity cables and clean water pipes pass through the holes on the C-profile.
16 Furnishing the insulation material
17 Completing the partition wall
• Before starting the coating of the second surface, the insulation materials are furnished by pinching them between the C-profiles.
• The coating of the second surface starts with half plate. In this way, the joints on opposite surfaces are discomposed.
• Gypsum plates are fixed with 25 mm drywall screws along their edges. On this surface, screwing to C-profiles coinciding with the middle parts of the gypsum plate is made completely.
• It is returned to the first surface and the screwing of the C-profiles coinciding with the middle of the gypsum plate is completed.
18 Corner junction
19 T-junction
20 Door openings
• While determining the locations of the wall corners, the thickness of the gypsum plate at the junction point must be considered.
• In order to prevent the C-profile to remain open, the gypsum plate is coated as shown.
• In wall T-junctions, the C-profile is fixed to the gypsum plate by using glue (silicon etc.) or by being screwed.
• The wings of U-profiles coinciding with both sides of the door opening are cut by allowing the U-profiles to rotate 15-20 cm upwards and folded with right angle.
21
22 Reinforcement part
23 Door transom
• The C-profiles coinciding with both sides of the door opening are screwed to the U-profile fixed to the ceiling with upwards folded U-profiles.
• According to the weight of the doors to be fastened, an additional C-profile or a wooden reinforcement part can be placed within the C-profile.
• The length of transom is found by adding minimum 30 cm to the width of the door.
• The wings of the U-profile are cut by allowing to rotate 15-20 cm upwards and folded with right angle.
• The transom is screwed to the C-profiles. Additional C-profiles are fastened between the transom and the ceiling if required.
24 Door case – partition wall T-junction
25 Two door cases – partition wall junction
• A perpendicular C-profile is place in the door case before performing gypsum plate coating in the partition wall.
• In order to increase the carriage capacity and the resistance against shocks, the partition wall is reinforced with an additional C-profile.
